Trainnews 10/02/24
Baltimore Maryland has an extensive light rail system that operates from Glen Burnie in the south to Hunt Valley in the north, a system of slightly over 22 miles in length. There is a spur from the mainline that reaches Thurgood Marshall, BWI International Airport. In addition, the is a short subway system in the City of Baltimore.
The light rail system uses a fleet of 35 LRVs built by ABB in 1991-92. They are unique to Baltimore and haven't been duplicated elsewhere. Some of the LRVs operate singly. Some are wrapped in advertising. The train here has just left the end of the line at Hunt Valley and is headed for city center and beyond. It is liveried in an attractive scheme that incorporates the State Flag of Maryland.
