The Utah Transit Authority operates three light rail lines, one modern streetcar and a heavy rail commuter service. The trains are powered by eighteen MP36PH-3C built by Motive Power Inc. in 2007 and 2009. They run on their own ROW next to the UP, so there is never any freight train interference with the commuter schedules. nning north along the Wasatch Range, we have a happy coincidence: Train 5 being led by locomotive 5. This is the typical four car consist of the “Front Runner”.
