With the steady parade of General Electric power currently seen on Norfolk Southern’s Pittsburgh Line it is refreshing to occasionally see EMD diesels. Such was the case on August 12, 2020 as a NS stack train headed west with EMD SD70ACC No. 1820 leading, seen passing Hunt Tower in Huntingdon, PA. The 1820 was previously NS SD70 No. 2514, which was rebuilt and converted from DC to AC traction in January 2019 at Progress Rail’s facilities in Muncie, IN. Hunt Tower was built by the PRR in 1900.
