Can we clear up the Santa Cruz situation please

It is my understanding that the RTC owns the line from Watsonville to the wye near the old depot. Therefore they want to railbank or abandon that portion of the line which in doing so would isolate the Roaring Camp line to Felton. Roaring Camp is a common carrier regulated by the STB and they are opposed to being isolated.

Is that correct or is there more to the story.

They want to remove (or abandon) the freight part so the line could be railbanked. RTC would offer RC would be offered to run it's tourist train to the beach still.
