A southbound Central Oregon and Pacific (CORP) train with Union Pacific power splits the Union Switch & Signal lower quadrant semaphores at milepost 588.9 near Oakland, Oregon in June 2002. CORP runs over the former Southern Pacific’s Siskiyou line, which was the original main line between Eugene, Oregon and Redding, California, 391 miles. The Siskiyou line was an intense attraction for railfans for years due to its being equipped with semaphores and wig-wag grade crossing signals. All of these vintage signalling devices have been replaced with modern equipment. CORP was acquired by Genessee and Wyoming in 2012.
