In the early 1990s CSX leased four EMD F-units to MARC (Maryland Area Regional Commuter) for use on their lines in Maryland and West Virginia. This was an A-B-B-A set which was numbered 116, 117, 118 and 119. On May 28, 1992 I went to Harpers Ferry, WV to photograph the late afternoon MARC trains heading to their final destination at Martinsburg. The first train out of the tunnel was powered by CSX F-units Nos. 116 and 117. No. 116 was delivered to the Clinchfield Railroad as F3A No. 800 in 1949, No. 117 was delivered to the Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railway in 1950 as F7B No. 918. This shot was taken with a 135 MM telephoto lens from the passenger platform.
