Louise is well known, not for the railroad but for its’ September Fly In, known as the “Under the Wire Fly In”. In years past, the WAS a wire over the grass runway at mid field, requiring pilots to land “under the wire”. The wire is long gone, but the airfield remains. The owner is one of the foremost restoration experts of the Boeing Stearman aircraft, many of which trained Army Air Corps pilots in WW II.
