One of the most popular photo locations on CSX’s Magnolia Cutoff before the Color Position Light (CPL) signals were replaced with Safetrans tricolor signals was at milepost 64, 100 yards east of Graham Tunnel. Two tall masts side by side laden with the venerable signals created an ideal scene in which to frame a train splitting the signals. In this photo, CSX train Q416 passes through the CPLs on January 23, 2008. This train originated in Rocky Mount, NC and is en route to Cumberland, MD. On the point is GP40-2 No. 6447, which was originally B&O No. 4433. The Magnolia Cutoff was built by the B&O in 1914 above the original main line between Paw Paw and Orleans Road, West Virginia, which was built in the 1850s. The original main line was built along the south shore of the Potomac River, which closely followed the river with many sharp curves, and was prone to flooding.

Dear Sir

I very much appreciate over the years your efforts at assembling the Train News site.

I don't know if you can help me, I've been having a couple of problems.

1. This problem has has gotten worse and worser over time, many of the links I click on won't let me connect. I get a screen with a little floating space man that says the site can't be reached. I've cleaned my browser history just in case, but it doesn't help. Wondering if you might have any clues ????

2. When I go off to visit a link and come back, it takes me all the way to the top of the list, and I have to scroll down to where I was before I clicked on a link. Do you have any clues as to what causes that and how I might avoid it??

thanks for all your work on the site and putting things all together.

Sincerely

hoke

I am not sure what to tell you, I use Firefox as my browser and have had no issues. Also tried on my cell phone and the links work.

As for when you go offline the program will always place you at the start when you start a new session. Perhaps, try to 'right click' the link and open it in another tab so that you never leave the first browser session.

Hope this helps
